Decoded message:

I am trying to get your attention! See how happy I am!
I would like to interact with you. Please, try to understand my new language.

Suggested actions:

Staying close

Move close to your child and hold him in your arms while he is happy.
Bounce him gently on your lap while he babbles.
This may even make him laugh!
Cuddle him when he laughs and laugh along with him.

Promoting play

Go see your child and babble with him.
Say short syllables such as “pa”, “ma”, “ba”, “boo” etc. and let him try to repeat them.
Make sure he can see your mouth while you make these sounds.
When he is successful, say in a happy tone: “Yay! You did it!” and clap his little hands together.
