The needs expressed by your child change with age.

6 months to 1 year

Your baby can recognize you through sight, smell and even touch. Several bonds grow stronger, at this stage.

Baby generally prefers his mother’s presence, but can also be comforted by his father or other individuals, if his mother is not available.

He may be afraid of strangers and look to you for comfort. When your baby is distressed or scared, he clings to the person who takes care of him most of the time.

Note: Your baby feels safe with one person. He is sad when this person moves away from him and happy when she returns. The feeling of security that your baby has by staying in contact through touch, sight and sound is very important.
